I've been building a dial up BBS here lately in Houston, TX. I'm using OASIS JR BBS software and it works great! I'm running it from the Atari 800XL. I also have an Atari 130XE with extra memory. I have another 130XE that needs
    to
be fixed. When my friend gets around to making that repair I can put one of the XE's on the BBS to run more efficiently. The other working XE stays at
    my
    house for my personal use.

I'm calling into this BBS from my 130XE and SX212 1200 baud modem! I know I could telnet around but this is more fun to operate this vintage equipment.
    It
    brings back the nostalgia!

Hey! Do you have a setup you could attach to a phone line? I can
    call you!

    it out.

Yes! 5 1/4 are nice. I enjoy formatting them in double density and
using them on my Atari. Atari 8-Bit computers started out with single density floppy drives at first. In the latter part of the 80's they
    came out with DD.

Sorry I haven't responded lately. My wife had back surgery and that took a couple of months to deal with. Anyway, yeah, I finally got Oasis Jr. BBS working and all configured on my Atari 130XE 8-Bit system! That was an interesting project time-warp I must say! I enjoyed the challenge though. Now, I will have to set the equipment up at the warehouse where I work and plug
it into a dedicated phone line there. When I get to that point I will let everyone know it's live!

The name of my BBS is YYZ BBS. That was the original name of it back in 1986 when I ran it from TN. It will now be located in Houston, TX.

    Equipment I'm using:

    Atari 65XE 8-Bit Computer
Atari 1050 SS/DD Disk Drive (w/US Doulber high speed chip)
    Atari XF551 DS/DD Disk Drive
    Atari SX212 300/1200 Baud Modem

It will be purely dial-up just like the good ole' days!

I completely approve! So what is the telephone number? O would like to check it out since I am all about calling dialup BBSs at the moment.

    Lord Cygnus,

First off, AWESOME that you are calling from the Technodrome BBS in Austin. I have called that BBS a few times, and though I did not find a good local Board to get involved with, I enjoyed it enough.

Secondly, I want to try out that BBS! :) Did you get the BBS set up at your warehouse?
