For some reason, the "Nodelist" and "Recent Callers" features are not working.

Check out the US 99 menu above for links to information about US Highway 99, after which the US 99 BBS is named.
Be sure to click on the Amateur Radio menu item above for packet BBSes, packet software, packet organizations, as well as packet how-to's. Also included is links to local and some not-so-local Amateur Radio Clubs.
Telnet/SSH:2022/HTTP
gopher should be also doable and probably desirable. Offhand methinks that would be the way to go.
it appears that maybe my ISP is blocking port 70 as I am not able to
connect from remote.

I can confirm that lynx connects to http://capitolcityonline.net but not gopher://capitolcityonline.net. I know "lynx gopher://" works as I have successfully connected to hosts on port 70.
I wasn't aware it wasn't working until it came up here.

So all you get is the main page and links that don't function.
I closed port 70 back up. ;)
That can and does happen every now and then. Also "lynx http://" had issues and I had to use "lynx telnet://" to create an account and then log into it. was looking to create a msg but didn't see an echoarea corresponding to ASIAN_LINK.
if I were going to use lynx to connect to the board via http, I
would point it to classic.capitolcityonline.net
I figured out why it wasn't working... I had closed the port on my router.
That said, I also think I figured out why I did so. I was able to lynx to
it but, as there is apparently no way to log on via the synchronet gopher pages, so you are presented with a rather small selection of message
groups and file areas, none of which are accessible without a logon.

I have read this thread and see I don't need to search for Lynx.
There is alway something or someone to keep Me humble, right now
it's the phone.

I wouldn't now. I do plan to play around with it some and see if I can get it working, but that is on the roundtoit list. ;)
