    We were but now a so-called cold front has moved in. Just goes to show how hot it has been when they are calling +20C a cold front.

    Can you see the smoke from your vantage point?

    Only the last couple of days and I think it is coming from the north island and not the major ones in the Shuswap (Secwepemc├║─║ecw on Turtle Island) or Kelowna. This year hasn't been bad for smoke like other years despite the continued devastation on the mainland.

    Speaking of bad weather, I hear the Ottawa Valley has become Canada's new tornado alley.

    How about yourself? I haven't heard much about your local disaster scene(s) or have youse managed to escape it thus far.

    in one week as tornado alley, but it could fit.

    The smoke from the wildfires from the north have diminished in
    my part of the province (near Algonquin Park). It was nice to
    actually breathe some fresh untainted air for several days.
    Now.. it's been a bit hazy and smog-like from the smoke again.

    Hey August!

    firesmoke.ca seems to indicate at least two wildfires to the

    Nothing of any serious threat from what I hear. I did hear they planned to close Hwy 4 at Cameron Lake for some maintenence due to the fire there earlier this summer. That one had the largest impact economy-wise and apparently still does due to landslides. Given that part of the island sees maximum amounts of rain in the rainy season I suspect there will be many more closures in the near future. Other than that we've been extremely lucky. :::knock on wood::

    Beautiful country. Haven't been in that part of the province since the sixties, but the northwest more recently in the 1990's (Souix Lookout and north). Unreal amount of moose in those parts.
