Here is a collecting story from Nancy F in ND. Thanks for sharing, Nancy!

My kids sometimes refer to my active collecting gene as "hoarding", but what do
they know! I'm a quilter and have already warned my son about selling my books
at a rummage since several of them are out of print and very collectable. But my favorite sewing things to collect are the old silver thimbles that have been
used and used until there's a tiny hole! I string them up with a bead and make
a little bell to hang on a wallhanging or the edge of a curtain. It's a nice memory of a quilter from another generation.

10. Vintage Recipes

Email recipes@tias.com if you would like to submit a recipe.

As with collectibles, people also have very strong feelings about foods from their past. Sometimes these special recipes get lost. This section is to help
people who are looking for lost recipes from their past. If you submit a request, please include the geographical region where you tasted the recipe. If you have a vintage recipe request send it to recipes@tias.com and we might just publish it here.

MOCHA NUT BALLS
1 c. soft butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 t. vanilla
2 t. instant coffee powder
1/4 c. cocoa
1 3/4 c. sifted flour (+1 extra T. if no nuts are added) 1/2 t. salt
2 c. shopped pecans or walnuts, optional Confectioners' sugar

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add coffee, cocoa, flour and salt bit by bit, then the nuts. Form into 1" balls. Bake at 325 degrees about 15 minutes. Cool and roll in confectioners' sugar. Cool more and store in covered containers. Beverly in NY
