so when i hatch a file i import the file.id.diz in the description but it
shows this in the logs and when i post there is no file_id.diz with it.

My Allfix defaults are from the last century and they may have been changed. :)

it works in the tic file but when i have it make announcement thats where the description fails at times and some times wont post to the message base.

check your unzipper and see if there's a command to force all caps... it may, indeed, be case sensitive if the file_id.diz inside the archive is lower case... i see it all the time on linux...

also, what unzipper are you using? infozip's stuff or something else??
