    I've now tried two XP systems (one bare metal and one VM) and a couple of versions of ALLFIX. to sum up:

    6.024 DOS - freezes the DOS window, no log entries. ASETUP works.

    6.018 Universal - seems to work, but ASETUP causes NTVDM to crash. I tried running the ASETUP from 6.024 DOS and it read the config OK, but I'm seeing ALLFIX refuse files in echoes that I have my uplink set to receive files from, and password errors on TIC files with the same password I have set in my config.

    5.13 DOS seems to work, but I'll need to reconfigure the whole thing, which is ia pain.

    Any suggestions?

    IIRC I had similar problems with 6.xx. I finally dropped it and went back to 5.13.

    It was the only way...

    Thanks for the confirmation. Recreating the configuration might not be a huge deal a little bit at a time.
