I'm running DOS 6.0.24 and am adding some areas in. I keep getting messages about an invalid destination drive, I.E.

    # 10 Feb 21:30:24 AFIX Processing C:\SBBS\ALLFIX\BAD-TICS\BB52FDF1.TIC from 1:261/38

I'm running Synchronet BBS, and did an FCOMP 21 c:\sbbs\ctrl. My area definition looks like:

There's no invalid deive specified in SBBS. Any suggestion on what could cause this?

When I try that, I get an error message that it can't find the area in my filebase.

That seems to work. Although some of the HOWTOs say that the Synchronet setting for FCOMP will work, they don't seem to. When I specified a file area in the definition area using F6, it gave me a list of file areas - but the error message pointing to the wrong drive letter was the first letter of the file area in each case.
