You already live too far north for my blood. I grew up in your neck of the woods (grandpa's parents homesteaded 40 acres on a lake near Minneapolis, c1905) and seeked out warmer climates after my college days.

I was a southern California resident for 39years and am a south Texas
resident for the last 7 years. My last visit to the great white north was
in 2008 while attending the funeral of my long lived mother. I have no
desire to go back again in this lifetime.

Yow! I'm in Michigan (but I am moy a Yooper).
Thus you must have colder weather than we do here or I had in Anchorage.
The Anchorage weather is moderated by the ocean (but last year they had a record 3.4 meters (132 inches)of snow. That was about the height of a
second story on many buildings.
