Can filling your car's gas tank cause relapse?

Nearly All brands of gasoline contain ethynol alcohol these days.
Normally 10% is blended with the gasoline.

Now picture this. You're holding the hose and filling your tank. The
alcohol in the fuel is vaporizing in the air only inches from your
nose. You take a deep breath and inhale the ethynol vapors. Suddenly
you begin craving a beer or gin & tonic, or any other alcoholic
beverage. You finish filling your gas tank, quickly pay the cashier,
and rush off to the nearest bar to get drunk.....
This happens every day, and few realize the cause of their relapse, is
the fuel they burn in their vehicles and other gas engines.

Using gasoline with added ethynol alcohol is a dangerous practice for recovering alcoholics. Worse yet, if you have one of those E85
vehicles, you're handling alcohol almost as powerful as Everclear.
All recovering alcoholics are living in extreme danger by burning
alcohol based fuels in their cars, particularly if they fill their own
    tank.

Using alcohol based fuels is just like pretending to be drinking, but
without the barstool and jukebox. To avoid relapse from these fuels,
the following may help you avoid the dangers.

    1. Never fill your own gas tank. Hire someone who is not an alcoholic
    to fill your tank.

    2. Look for gas stations that sell pure gasoline, without ethynol
(they're rare to find, but do exist).

    3. Do not use E85 if you car can operate on lower alcohol fuels.

    4. Sell your gasoline powered car and buy one with a diesel engine.

    5. Never smell gasoline vapors such as those in a gas can, when you
fill your lawn mower tank. Wear a respirator if you must use gas.

    6. Stop driving entirely, or buy an electric powered vehicle. Also
get an electric lawn mower and weed whacker, and replace any other
gasoline operated equipment. Bicycles are a safe and healthy
    alternative means of transportation.

    7. If you live within 1000 feet of a gas station, the alcohol vapors
will always be present. The risk is great, and will affect your
health and sobriety 24 hours a day. Sell your home and move as soon
    as possible.

    8. If your job requires you to be exposed to ethynol blended gasoline,
alcohol based paints, or require using isopropl (rubbing) alcohol,
quit your job immediately. (This includes mechanics, painters, people
in the medical occupations, lawn care professionals, those in chemical manufacturing plants, oil refiners, and many more occupations). A
good lawyer is helpful in order to sue your employer for ruining your
sobriety and to receive your entitled unemployment benefits.

    8. Keep attending AA meetings, and be sure to discuss your use of
gasoline at the meetings. Your life depends on it!

Remember, you're life depends on staying sober and avoiding all
alcohol. It's better to be without transportation than to relapse and
    die from alcoholism.

Keep coming back - It works if you work it!

I can't think of any phrase to describe you aside from "fucking
asshole". No blend of gasoline that I know of smells, tastes, or
looks ANYTHING like an alcoholic beverage. You continue spewing out
your fucking bullshit. It is, on a good day, best described as
"sophistry". Look it up. I assume that you are literate enough to
use a dictionary. It's obvious that you are suffering from the
    early stages of Korsakoff's.

So you don't believe that simple ingestion of alcohol will trigger a
craving? Because that is usually the primary argument.

What you're saying is that as long as your booze doesn't look, taste or
smell (and don't forget the other two senses) you aren't in danger of
    relapse?

What a waste of ethanol. It could go to much better use in your near
    beer.
